I walked to work along Kalakaua Ave when lived there yrs ago under many of those tall palm trees! More landscaping, water features & hardscape along has improved lots! I got more excited when you turned mauka to the Ali Wai, crossing then turned Diamondhead direction, WOW!! Wish caught you yesterday, to chat with you when you went right by where I lived at Lili Garden towers off Wai Nani Way!! Thats where you tried to cross Ali Wai and no cross walk there!!! Awesome seeing this area so familiar with great memories of the years lived there! I was wishing physically there beside you, but your video had me there again! Love the clarity of the video! Where did all the debris go???? Into the ocean??? When I was there last Fall I would walk the canal a lot! Every day I would walk from the zoo area to the Ala Moana mall and Walmart/Sam's Club!

We were there when all the debris was built up and the news said they were assessing how best to clean it up so I'm hoping that's what they did. We were heading out the day of the worst storm (last Thursday, flights were cancelled and we spent the night at the airport!) and the canal was about to flow over the bridge!!

Great walk. Good the Ala Wai is not choke with debris. Glad your toe is healing. Occasionally see some people bring aquarium tank fish net & try scoop up some seahorse out of the canal.

I like the walks off the beaten path. I purchased a HOLO card last time I was there. The bus makes it easy to get around the island and also see the sights that you miss if you stayed in the tourist area.

My first visit to Oahu (back in the 80's) we stayed at the Royal Kuhio. In the evening we went for a walk and got caught jay walking. My friend started speaking french and the police officer said l know you understand english. If you continue to speak french l will throw you both in jail. To make a long story short the police officer thank goodness just gave us a warning. 😂

I was walking on the Ala Wai around 4 pm. Saw only large tree branches. Walked from the bridge to little past where you were then back. Didn’t see any fish there. Wonder where they all went 🤔
