Kareedoringkraal farm Stay, Spitzkop, Moordenaars Karoo

We've always been intrigued by the turnoff to the Moordenaars Karoo as you enter Laingsburg from Cape Town's side on the N1 highway. Nothing more than a "I wonder what's down there" remark was uttered until December 2023, when we decided to go and take a look for ourselves.
The area is situated in the triangle formed by the towns of Laingsburg, Sutherland, and Merweville. None of them are technically part of the area, so it's a vast area without a major town. Although no lengthy accommodation list was to be found, we did stumble across Spitzkop and the lovely Kareedoringkraal farm stay. And what a find!
For New Year's Day, the owners, Neil and Marietjie, treated us to a fantastic spread of cheeses, cold meats AND Sushi on top of Middelberg with views to kill for. With a shot of Jägermeister nogal!
As if they hadn't gone out of their way already, we were treated to a 4x4 outing around the farm to all the hidden gems. And of course the farm Jack Russell, Bix had to come along for an additional fun factor. To end the day off, we were treated to a fantastic Bobotie supper in their newly built wedding venue.
