lori v No smart filters in PSE. If you use file>place the object you put in becomes a smart object (well, a semi-smart object in PSE).

yeah lots of clicking for me I would just get an image of a torn piece of paper and behind that layer put a person rub out the middle of the rip with the rubber tool and make the paper more transparent then do that thing with the colour replace tool so that the paper is black and white and the person behind it is not, sorry I just find that more easy than all of the clicking and stuff XD

THE ZYRICS its on the 4:08 You don't need to click on the turn paper layer, you need to click on the upper layer - then ctrl-click the turn paper icon to get the selection.

Please elaborate. Are you referring to analog (actual, physical mediums) vs. digital? Photoshop is essentially a powerful tool to create art digitally. I say this as a retired professional art director, graphic artist and illustrator who started my artistic journey in the pre-digital world of the late 1960s.
