I loved this video. I'm convinced that everybody should learn design patterns from the first day. It is mandatory. It is mandatory I mean there is no exception. I think you don't need to learn all those basics, just jump into laravel or wordpress. After familiar with those up-level frameworks and build some projects, you will find out the field that you are not good at or you need to learn, and you can learn what you are lacking afterwards.
