Sir, We are of the considered opinion that in order to create so much corpus over long term, two more things will be essential under the present circumstances : 1. We need to REBALANCE / RESHUFFLE the " Initial portfolio of Equity MF Schems " once in three years or so . For example, if a Tech fund is underperforming for 3 or 5 years , there is no point is sticking to it for 10 or 15 years. 2. We need to include in our portfolio, the SUNRISE / BOOMING SECTOR-FUNDS periodically , which might change from time to time . For example, as we all know, two categories of funds -- PSU Funds and INFRASTRUCTURE Funds did OUTPERFORM other categories of Equity MFs during the past 18 months or more. Hence, we need to identify and include PERIODICALLY , the TOPPERS in such categories of MF Schemes in our portfolio.
