I left Saigon back in 1975 and was only 8 years old at that time. Can you please visit Turtle lake , I used to go fishing there almost everyday as a kid. Used to walk about 4 blocks to get there. Mate, it's all about your street level view. You've had such a journey here, and that's why you're such a part of the local community. I felt like I was approaching that more when I was living with my fiance's family, but stagnating since I moved into d7 to be closer to my work. It's just not a priority for the people here, and who I work with, as much as I love them. You inspire me to reconnect with the local communities when I have the opportunity and I need to do that much more. Sounds like a middle class whinge but I have much more fun chatting my Vietnamese with the workers in my building than hanging out with other expats. I'm lucky now to be part of a gia đình tiếng Việt, but i want so much more. Keep it going!
