Hi everybody! This is just an aluminum cutting test on the bed that has improved my surface. And I'm glad the result was not a mistake. Surely this is not a good solution because the scope of safety is very small, and not for the faint of heart. 😃 Thank you for watching and commenting!!!

So many people that downright know everything. These days college is useless when you can just watch KZbin comments, and learn all the secrets of life. Please, more comments on what he should be doing that he's not. I'm sure he takes all this wonderful information to heart, and completely throws out his setup/tooling/routine/ect, in exchange for something a 40yr old unemployed man living in his mommas basement has told him. Always a load more gems and priceless information flowing from the guys watching videos vs guys actually being productive.

You forget alot of people have 20,000 hrs behind cnc machines, went to college for machining, and may have useful ideas to share. Supporting the flow of ideas does not mean they need to be implemented.

Toolpaths are sub-par. No hard stops in corners! Always keep the axis moving, even a small radius ist better than a full stop. I almost fell off my chair when I saw your controller... Reminds me of one of those laptops for small children :D Anyway, keep track of your corners! And keep it up, great work!

What's the reasoning in hogging out those interior shapes? I would have made two passes of the perimeter and tabbed the inner drop off's. More metal for the recycling bin, less wear & tear on the machine, less time.

Douglas Lodge "Solid Carbide Metal" ok sure that's specific. which "Carbide" then Bonehead. And He was using an End Mill! Dumbass. Wood bit huh. And what speed "Slower" Who the Fuck are u? You Do understand then that Speed and Feeds are specified in hand books by Real Engineers....Right?
@robertbonenfantjr12087 жыл бұрын
Well Andrew, I would love to see this Magic Speeds and Feeds hand Book you refer to ..... Its Not going to work the same on my equipment and it would be different for Phucnguyen - We in the Cnc industry use simple formulas to find out What speeds and feeds to use (Engineers Not Required) Just Some info from manufacturer is needed. Every Bit manufacturer is different and every machine is different - The Link Below will give you a better edge finish (Just one Option Out of 100s) www.toolstoday.com/p-6447-hss-spiral-aluminum-cutting-single-double-flute-up-down-cut-router-bits.aspx

Hey dude, it looks like you know what you're doing, but do me a favor and wear gloves. I'm wondering, where do you get your aluminum plate? I built my own CNC mostly for wood cutting and have been considering upgrading some of my components by making them out of plate like this - I've found some sources but they seem expensive. I'm assuming plate that thick *is* expensive :D Nonetheless - I'd love to know who the supplier you go to is.
@jay1486you6 жыл бұрын
LogicSpeaks just a thought, you might try to nicely ask a local machine shop...they often get better prices on material and may be willing to pass this along to you since you’re a fellow CNC enthusiast. Worth a shot anyway.

Thanks for the video. I have a few observations. On my machine, if I were cutting those inside shapes I would use an 1/8" bit and cut the perimeter, leaving small tabs to hold the drop off in place. I have also attached a sacrificial sheet (PVC) with vacuum holes. My software does not allow that last clean up pass you did so I envy you that. What software are you using? Thanks, Ian

Have you experimented with changing from climb cut for a final pass? I've found improved finish with non-ferrous but that was all I tested before handing the keys to my customer. I recorded shaft vibrations induced by cutting and greatly decreased as the finish improved. Reducing feed speed while climb cutting didn't show similar benefit. Nice toy you have. Good day.
