So many voices done perfectly. Clearly enunciated, delivered with energy, not quite stereotypes and so accurate and funny...Richard Briers is truly a great... Great talent!!

Beautiful story and brilliant Richard Briers narrating it . Takes me back to an innocent childhood and innocent time. This story was on national TV in my country where I listened to it with enchanted attention and a vivid imagination.

Outstanding performance. I'm not british and I don't understand each and every word but the language is so varied and describing that the landscapes and sights grow out of the speakers as Richard Briers weaves the stories so masterful. I have to ask though: Some passages from the unabridged version are omitted and the chapter "The piper at the gates of dawn." is completely missing. Any particular reason for this? Tradition? Too scary for children? Conflict with the album name of Pink Floyd? Why?

You are quite right that this is the best-ever narration of "The Wind in the Willows" - I only wish there were more of it to listen to! Did Richard Briers ever record the unabridged version of this book?
