CAROL Screenwriter Phyllis Nagy directs this warm, uplifting period piece about the Janes, providers of safe abortions before the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision made them legal nationwide. At its center, Elizabeth Banks sparkles in a poignant turn as a housewife whose search for the procedure leads to a new calling.
