Amazing game! I motivate students to switch by adding challenges (total hoops, every red hoop, farthest hoops, every boy, etc.). Also, when I blow the whistle it scares all the hawks out of their nests and they go to a new nest, even if they never communicated with that student.

This is awesome! It is a brilliant tool to help kids on the spectrum learn how to communicate better. Thank you 💙

Can add to this by giving everyone a basketball. So as they leave their nest, they need to dribble the ball to the other nest.

Looks wonderful. I am going to try this tomorrow with my K, self contained K-4 classes, 1, & 2 this week!!! Thank you so much

Thanks! Great game. I added having the birds make achievements like go to every red hoop, make the longest trade, go around the world, etc. I found it helps encourage trading and justifies "no" responses.

I also play two non-verbal versions - sound is ok but no words and totally silent. I encourage them to make bird noises for the first non-verbal. They love it!

I've been having the issue where the students are purposely going slow or not trying to get to another hoop so that they can become a Hawk. Similar to when I do a tag game and kids chase the tagger trying to get tagged. lol

I hear ya. Try adding a rule to see if players can successfully switch into every hoop without becoming a hawk….might stop some of that…or might not hah

Hunter Hawks - verbal or non verbal?
@physedgames2 ай бұрын
@@MichelleMcNearney I play verbal, but I guess it could work either way. It’s super fun, you’re students will love it

Not sure if I missed the explanation but, what is stopping those kids who never want to leave the Hula Hoop? is there a rule to make them want to switch?
@physedgames Жыл бұрын
I’ve never had students who don’t want to leave the hoop. But you could make a bonus ‘motivation’ rule to see if students can switch to every single hoop before the end of the round.

Is it only 2 kids switching at a time or all kids?
