It doesn't make sense to put it this way. We are also part of, in, and of the universe. So we are also unreal. If everything is unreal, what is the criterion by which to decide what is real and what is not? A better way to express the findings of modern physics (and neuroscience, neurobiology of the senses, perception, and consciousness) is to say that the traditional non-scientific version of physical reality as consisting of tangible or visible or audible or otherwise perceptible to our senses and perceptions and consciousness is only a convenient short-hand for creatures like us, a species belonging to the primate family. Reality for a bat which perceives ultrasonic vibrations is different. Reality for a bee or a bird which perceives ultraviolet light is different. Reality for a robin which migrates through perceiving the magnetic poles of the earth is different. They all don't live in "unreality" - only in different perceptions of an underlying physical universe. Now for someone who argues that beneath the level of bodies, tissues, cells, molecules, there are only atoms, sub-atomic particles (quarks, bosons, leptons) and forces (strong, weak, electromagnetic, gravitation) of that at still another level, there are only quantum waves and fluctuations of a quantum foam emerging from a vacuum - it's only possible to reply that seems to be true from research and experiments and theory so far. But "reality" is relevant only at a certain level. It's irrelevant for most human beings who are not cell researchers or biologists or cancer specialists to think reality only consists of cells. It's equally irrelevant for them to be told they are only fluctuations in a cosmic field. We all live our lives as though we, the people in our lives, and our lives were real. So please ....let's all accept we should be properly humble and in awe of the universe now that we understand better than people did for thousands of years that we are not the center of the universe, just like the earth is not the center of the solar system or galaxy. But that doesn't change the need for ethics or other human concerns.
