Washington state. These are always fun to watch. I remember seeing the 'teapot' illusion done as a water spigot many years ago. 60s I think - when I was a boy. It definitely got my attention when I was young. I knew it had to be a trick but had to stare at it a bit to figure it out.

They are parallel, its because of the lines of trapezoidal shaped white and black squares and because and the smaller side of the trapeze point in each line in the same direction, and the blue lines all have the same centerspace between themselves and the edges.
