Quick recap Rule 1: Check number of covalent bonds more no. of covalent bonds more stable it gets. Rule 2: Check if the compound is neutral or not, neutral specie is more stable than charged. Rule 3: Check if negative charge is in more electronegative atom if yes then it's stable Rule 4: In case of 2 like/unlike charges, If 2 like charges are near then it's unstable.

Sir, I guess you forgot to consider the rule of octets which must be given greater preference than stabilised negative charge. So, for the example at 8:00, 2 is supposed to be more stable than 1 ...because in 2, octet of all atoms is satisfied. Kindly reconsider. Thank you for the amazing education 💟.

See, in that qtn in first option u think that octet of oxygen isnt complete but can u see the negative charge it is holding which means it has recieved one electron and requires one more for octet so hence in both the options the octet was complete and their stabiltiy can only be compared by position of charges over diff atoms
