@@NickMoore oh I just wondered... No need to post in any particular frequency of course! Your content has always been top interesting and very different from others, and your narration is very friendly. Plus you always answer... Just saying hi, and glad to see you back!

I was really surprised to see that they were actively seeking the light.

As in your intro video there is a sharp sound which is produced after using the flash. Is that sound produced by the electrolytic capacitor ?
@321tryagain4 жыл бұрын
The high pitched whine that is sometimes heard after the flash of a camera is the charging circuitry that boosts low voltage (1-3V) to high voltage (200-300V) necessary to fire the flash. Although the energy is stored in a capacitor, the sound is not made by the capacitor itself.

As far as I know the noise come from the transformer coil, though Wikipedia mentions that nearly any component can make a noise. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetically_induced_acoustic_noise

Cool. I did not think I was going to care for the subject matter but this was interesting. I also had just watched Physics Girls latest video and she mentions you along with a clip of one of your videos. Cool again... : )

Glad you liked it, this was some old footage that I've been thinking about for the past few months but wasn't sure how to share it.

Thanks, I find it really weird that they are photosynthetic but also able to swim around to 'hunt' for more light.

Nearly a decade ago I visited this same area. I saw the same thing as you, but I had no idea what I was seeing. I just wanted to thank you. Not only for making this real to me, but in doing it in less than 2 min! Good luck in all of your endeavors. Sincerely, A new silent subscriber

Hey ! I hope you are doing well. I just remember you because of this : "Moore (from Morocco) - this surname can also be transformed in, inter alia, Moris, Moorish, Morys, and Morris" Curious ! I have read that here : [ www.differencebetween.net/language/difference-between-given-name-and-surname/ ]. But maybe you already knew that. Stay safe and enjoy all you can ! Cheers !

Hey, I don't have a lot of interesting stuff on the go lately but I might do a little write up on my home network setup. I've been getting >4000 hits a day from bots trying to log into my server which is kinda neat.
@brainfornothing4 жыл бұрын
@@NickMoore More than 4K ? That is a good resolution ! Hehehe ! :D Do you have a web server or FTP or something ? The FTP in my work receive a lot of attacks daily, mostly from USA, Russia and China, but is very safe and we need it, so, no problem. I only had a web server from my own house once, in the 90's, I prefer to pay hostings, much more convenient for me. The worst case scenario would be if you have a VNC or VPN access to your home computer fom internet (we have both), but, even so, is very safe. I suppose you are an expert in computer and networking, if not and I can help, I'm here :) but I don't think so, I'm not an expert, you must know a lot more than me. Cheers !

@@brainfornothing I run an SSH server for remote access which is pretty much a text based VNC. All the login attempts are from a new-ish botnet FritzFrog. If I can figure out for sure that's what it is I'll probably do a video about it. My network is pretty locked down, I don't like surprises on my computers >_
