Only time will tell how the value of Pi will develop once the open mainnet launches, but there are a few things to consider as well. 1. The core team won't launch the open mainnet until there are at least 100 apps they consider "mainnet ready." If only one of those apps solves a popular problem, it would give Pi a use case that causes users to use their coins in that app instead of selling them and might get outsiders to buy Pi coins to be able to use those apps as well. 2. Most coins are locked by users for up to 3 years, so whatever amount of Pi coins users have earned so far won't be available on day one but will be released gradually. 3. Even with the launch of the open mainnet, chances are that any CEX/DEX will still need some time to integrate Pi properly. It will, therefore, not be possible just to sell them on day one of the open mainnet. 4. Even right now, migrated Pi coins that aren't locked up are already used in daily transactions. See, for example, kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4bFooueebNgmcU& The value used is usually around $0.20 to $0.25 per coin. Many users that just want to cash it likely already did by spending their coins, further reducing the potential sell pressure. 5. Even if there is a certain selloff once we reach open mainnet and the first exchange integrates Pi properly, considering the points mentioned above, especially regarding the number of apps that are going to offer specific services just for Pi users, I'd imagine that the price would stabilize relatively quickly. If that will be around the $0.20 to $0.25 that I see in current transactions or much higher/lower, that is anyone's guess, and we just have to wait and see. Personally, I've locked my coins for three years because cashing out for small amounts doesn't change my life in any way. Either the project establishes itself and the value increases over time to a value that actually impacts my life, or it doesn't. Either way, I'm fine with it since I got those coins for pressing a button once per day, and I'm okay if those five-second efforts turn out to be in vain.

I’ve been mining Pi for a couple of years, but the guys in my security circle lost interest and bailed on me. Now I have a few hundred Pi that are in limbo, because I’ve just been mining by myself. You should probably try to get people back to pressing the button, maybe showing them kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4bFooueebNgmcU& or kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKfdcpSvp9egmKs& could do the trick. Once they see that their coins actually have a value they might be motivated enough to continue using the app or at least complete KYC. If they pass KYC you'll get your referral earnings as well, if they don't you are out of luck and all you can do is tell more people about the project to hopefully get a few more referrals that stay active.

Pi coins von referrals und Security Circle die KYC nicht bestehen gehen zurück in Umlauf und werden dann weider an andere Nutzer durch das tägliche "Mining" verteilt. Bzgl. der 6-Monate Rolling Period, wer heute KYC noch nicht bestanden hat verliert die coins die er vor ca. 06.01.2024 erhalten hat. Wie genau die Ausnahmeregelungen für Nutzer die aus technischen Gründen KYC noch nicht bestanden haben aussehen werden wir wohl in den kommenden Tagen erfahren.

Completely agree. I think at most 10% (which still would be a lot), but likely less than that. I feel sorry for everyone who went through the effort to watch my videos and sign up only to stop using the app after some time. They all missed out on getting some Pi for free that they could've used if they wanted to. Going to be even worse if Pi were to achieve a "huge" value. Knowing that they learned about the project early and missed out just because they were too lazy to press a button once per day.

The balance shown in the app is completely irrelevant since only coins from users that complete KYC will ever be migrated to the mainnet. That said, you should also run from BTC and any other cryptocurrency, hell, even from all FIAT currencies, because in every single currency, there will be people holding much more than the average user.

I'd recommend you take the time to learn some basics about how trading generally works. If you get 100 NVDA shares and sell them, the money doesn't come from NVDA but from whoever buys those shares from you. The same applies to crypto.

Maybe I misunderstood your initial comment 🤔 because it sounds like you believe that Pi Network would have to pay for the coins anyone wants to sell which is obviously not how any of this works. Besides that, Pi does NOT have an official value yet, so it can hardly be overvalued.
