Wonderful Pianist and Teacher ! Life-changing practice techniques for me! Thank you sincerely! I rather like the shirt and it seems to illustrate the last work you played; I'm sorry I don't know what music that is. I'm little by little catching up with all your video classes! A bit of a dreamer here when practicing. Your techniques applied help reign it in! Now, to build mental as well as physical stamina. I wish someone had taught these skills 50 years ago. Nothing to do for it except keep practicing. ❤

Wonderfully informative and such a privilege to be able to take on Graham's sagely advice from the comfort of our own homes. These are wonderful techniques to truly develop discipline and control, which in my case can take a back seat once I've developed a familiarity with whatever I'm learning. Big thanks from Sydney - Dave

Dan Sanderson, I found the same thing to be true. I feel like I need to hear (learn) everything he says.
Thank you so much for this two part lesson. I'm in the middle of trying to learn a very demanding piece, and this information was extremely useful to me!

With respect Sir, when you say you apply the dotted rhythm, you actually demonstrate a double dotted rhythm, which, though it may be a stylistic choice, could possibly be confusing for the level of student you are aiming for, IMHO. Thank you for your work.
@kwyman9867 жыл бұрын
Ian Towers I think he was just using that word "dotted" as an umbrella term. He didn't specify dotted sixteenths.

It's crazy I've watched two videos and there's things I've been doing instinctively. Things nobody told me or taught me to do. Of course there have been other times where the advice was totally new to me. Some of it was either logical or instructive to me.
@clarafriends15166 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this! So then do you do these techniques through an entire piece? So say your piece is 10 pages long, do you go through the entire piece in little measure or two sections using these techniques? Or is it something you do as an exercise do develop craftsmanship in your playing, but not used as a method in practicing the entire piece?
