If anybody is wondering the starting is Ernst linko’s 2nd piano concerto

An actually difficult one, bravo for the compilation and the discovery. Atterberg's 2nd movement is probably one of the most beautiful slow movements in the piano litterature.

I literally only got the Warsaw concerto, and that was after like a solid minute pausing the video and trying to play the melody through in my head! This has been a great way to humble me on my piano concerto knowledge. 😆

Yeah, talk about being humbled... I think I only got Bortkiewicz, Poulenc and Henselt - and that's because I played them... A few others I might have heard once, but most I didn't know. Piano repertoire is truly huge !

Same to me! 😅😅

I thought I was going to score a big round blob, and then along came the Warsaw Concerto. Shouldn't that have been in the 'easy' quiz though? Some of the composers, I'd never even heard of.

@@christopherpickles7541 Is it that popular ? I think I've only heard it on KZbin (and I go to concerts almost weekly...)

I thought knowing brahms chopin schuman grieg rachmaninoff tchaikovsky prokofiev liszt beethoven piano concertos and others cant name them all tbh was enough to score at least half or 1/3 part of max but bro got me humbled pettry quickly there XDD

Ay! This time, only got two!! The Warsaw Concerto, and Poulenc’s two pianos. That one was easy, and even if you don’t know the concerto, Poulenc is very recognizable. Love that concerto: it’s playful, humorous, and his fleeting allusions to hypnotic Indonesian gamelan are beautiful. There’ s a very good recording of it by the Labèque sisters.

Only 4/30, omg, 3 points for Clara Schumann and 1 point for Bortkiewicz. :S But nice discoveries ! :)

I didn't know any of these! 😄. By the way, what piece do you play in the intro?

I thunk the intro piece was by Selim Palmgren! Then I thunk Hummel at first and kwikly chonge to C Schumann (having heard it live a few weeks ago - very derivative drivel - once had Ponti's recording), missed the Atterberg, must listen again, the Plonk 2painos is too well-known(!), Henselt -good choice and i loved the RaymNOD Lewenthal, heard him play it live in the 70's, missed the Bore twicky witch (only kno no.1 -that's enuf!), missed Kalkbrenner (thunk Hummel -again, altho once had a Vox disc plunk by.....???), never 'erd of A Mathieu, the Chinese Plonkaway had to be Pearl-Riverish or similar, War-sore Concerto is too well-known (see Plonk, above!), missed Carl Vine altho i like most of what i've heard of his -good choice! Great fun even if a little unbalanced on HARDth!

I didn’t remember moscovitch recorded the atterberg concerto. I thought there are only three: the one on sterling, the one on cpo, and historical archive recording with the composer

Funny thing is I've heard nearly half of them, and Atterberg's first movement was among my favorites. But I didn't get the second movement - or any other concerto that was not its first movement - even C. Schumann, which I mistaken for Hummel. Funny enough how I can sing Atterberg's first movement all the way through but couldn't figure out the second.
