Thank you, maestro! After much time and effort spent trying to understand this technique, I now get it. This is basic physics! Optimum results with minimum effort. You just made my day, Mr. Toker!

tysm i was struggling with weighted pianos because i play the unweighted one and i wondered why my sound was so soft and tense. the piano at my school is weighted and it was so hard to play, because my arm was tense but my fingers were soft. i have a talent show today, and im playing piano, so ill try this technique. not sure why i found it at this time, but thank you

You're welcome @katorvalx. It may not make a big difference so quickly, though, if you've already been playing the piano for some years and are trying to improve your technique. It took me one year to adapt to this. I had to quit playing my old repertoire; in fact I quit playing any music for severl weeks; did only my new exercises; then started to play very easy pieces using the the new technique, gradually increasing the level. After one year, I was able to play at my old level with my new technique. This was all guided by my fabulous and loving teacher Anna M. Sigurdardottir in Iceland.

Seriously, there's nothing more frustrating than my student looking at me like "don't press on the keys? What do you think I am--a gene? That's insane. You're insane." But its basic physics and anatomy!! I've met so many people who even give up on piano because they "can't hit the right notes." Like dude, even I can tell you're just tense. Relax.
