C'est superbe de voir ce travail d'artisan ! Quand je changerai mon piano droit pour un piano à queue, j'espère trouver mon bonheur chez vous, même si vous êtes à 5 heures de route. J'adore la sonorité des pianos que vous restaurez.

You made it look easy, but the amount of work, time and expertise that went into restoring this piano is monumental!

Very nice work and sound. 2 questions: a) what did you paint the soundboard with. Please share the material used. b) what did you use for black finishing, if you don't mind sharing the ingredients. Many thanks
@sarbachpiano4 ай бұрын
The soundboard laquer is a modern water based wood finish from piano suplly Jahn, the black finish is schellack. (1 liter alcohol, 65 gr. Schellack blonde wax free two teaspoon nigrosin, solving at 25 degree C for at least two hours)

You were lucky that it wasn't a tied (rocker arm) action. Must have been built just a very few years after they went over to capstans

@sarbachpiano4 ай бұрын
thank you, the hammers I did not change the hammers, I think they are originally from Bechstein.
