Cool to hear a teacher's perspective! Might need to react ourselves as salespeople/technicians. Lots here is largely applicable to most reputable pianos ie. handbuilt, high-quality materials, small batches annually, etc. It's also a myth we haaaate that Steinways appreciate in value. A new Honda was $15k in 2000 and more like $25k now. That's not appreciation - and you'd be hard pressed to sell that old car for even a quarter of its value now! Anyway, pianos are fascinating instruments and no doubt Steinway makes some of the best ones. Only 1of 3 manufacturers left in the US too so we should be proud of their heritage! (: --Drew, 👪🎹
