Thank you Susan, I am so glad you love this song. Thank you for watching and listening, and may God bless you with His "wide open spaces" love and grace. Stanton

Almost hate to admit it, Stanton, but I play it up a half-step in D. One reason for this is that I often do it along with other pieces that are in D, so it just flows together easier rather than modulating between songs. This is one of my favorite pieces of yours. And, of course, Will's gift for mixing this (as well as all other pieces on "A Thousand Years" ) just made it turn out truly amazing.

I'm so glad this is a favorite of yours, and I love hearing this. Even though I read music, composing by ear and varying key signatures sometimes results in several flats. This was the case with "Open Spaces," but I am glad you could transpose to flow with your playing. Blessings to you! - Stanton

@@StantonLanier Easy enough to just read it in 2 sharps instead of the 5 flats. I've bought quite a bit of your sheet music over the years, and so have played many pieces. Last year played "Vive La Joye" for a wedding - bride requested it after listening to it. "Alleluias Dancing" is likely one of my all-time favorites since "Lasst uns erfreuen" is surely my favorite hymn tune. "Awaken the Dawn", "Bread of Angels" (as you might recall I created a guitar arrangement of this which is on my most recent album), "My Soul Silently Waits", "Rejoicing", "Breathe", "For a lifetime..." (also have an arrangement of this piece on my album), "World of Wonders" (another one I arranged that will be on my next album), "This very moment", "Wildflowers"...are all pieces I really like, among a good many more.
