Destruction and explosion everywhere. And if you read the manga, you'll know what the meaning of the lyrics is and how its connected to the opening. The next phase of the story will be more chaotic than how it was

My imagination must be fucked up cause i imagine mine much darker. I imagine erens founding titan form collapsed and slowly disintegrating as the rest of the group (especially mikasa and armin) break down crying next to erens body as the wall titans disappear revealing the barren and empty landscape. We then cut to inner monologue of eren as he talks about how hes sorry for all the pain he has caused and that he wishes he was better as his consciousness fades to black. We go back to mikasa who wipes away her tears and smiles saying something like “see you later, eren” as the titan body fully disappears and the sun rises from the horizon.

Nah, the point is totally missed. "Darker and more emotional" does not mean "slow down". Art itself is already emotional, it must be by definition. The original version of "My War" is already emotional and conveyed enough to me to understand what I'm getting into this season. Just imagine this. You're a Rumbling survivor and you managed to survive by hiding underground. You didn't die and when you came out, you hear this song playing. You thought it was all ended until at 3:12 you hear this again. You raise your eyes and you see a huge cloud of gas rising up in the sky far away. Suddenly, you hear lightning bolts and shockwaves in the ground for several times. After a few hours, you finally hear 4:43 and you finally know it's all over this time. For you, everything is lost and the people you cared are dead. You are lost, you don't know how to feel, your soul is emotionless, your mind is blank, silent... just like the final part of the song that ends silently and leaves an empty feeling in your heart.

This hits very hard when you thought the only war u know is the one from aot, but there are much more in your brain and soul. You just want a quiet place and peace. Just to adjust your mind. This song makes me feel like I'm in a story, i love this sensation. Being off this boring and evil life, teleporting to such a nice and perfect life, where you are needed and talented. You may not survive, but you die saving lives.
