Hi Ryan it seems that you are no longer making videos, but I want to leave a message here to thank you for this tutorial. Being able to play Canon in D was my motivation to start learning piano last year, and I was so glad to find this video. After I don't know how many hours of practice(and every min is worth it of course), I can finally play the whole piece, and it's so beautiful :)🥰

watching this video again brought so much memories when I was in Sophomore Highschool back in 2013. I asked mom to buy me a keyboard cause i wanted to learn how to play it, but the truth was that I wanted to divert my attention away from my growing depression ,anxieties & bullying. This was one of the first tutorials I ever got to finish learning. ❤️

Ryan I wanted to thank you for the way you teach. First you indicate how long it will take one to learn it. My son now know how much effort it will take instead of rushing and feeling frustrated. Also you stress that one needs lots of practice. Second s your note has the notes notated above the keys. He loved it. EXTREMELY AND ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT AND HE FINDS VERY VERY ENJOYABLE TO FOLLOW ALONG. Third you speak and guidance on how to play each part. Forth you play the song then go slow into the teaching. This is very encouraging because my son follow you one hand at a time. He can practice each hand first. Fifth you go over tricky part and go over how it suppose and then go slow. This entire process was just right. You take the TIME to truly teach. The notations are truly the greatest for followers. Thank you!

This is such a beautiful song. This is a great tutorial and so glad I found it. I'm a total beginner, only started playing piano 2 weeks ago on my own. Found this tutorial last week and I have been able to follow it (lots of rewinding! Shame there isn't slow mode). After 1 week of practising a couple hours a day I am now on part 7. Will still be some time and ALOT of practise for me to play it without any mistakes and all from memory. I have small hands so struggle stretching accross to play the double notes so any tips welcome. Thanks so much Ryan!

Subscribed within 15 seconds, it took that long to see that your tutorials are far superior and user friendly then others I've seen. Very impressive, obviously your piano skill is great as are many others on youtube, its your ability to teach that separates you. Feels like a mate is teaching me rather then a tutor..... It's either that or it's the letters appearing everytime you play a note 😛

From what I researched, Ryan is using Lee Galloway’s arrangement which is found in PDF on these two websites: www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCAQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsilasvh.files.wordpress.com%2F2011%2F10%2F20539038-lee-galloway-canon-in-d.pdf&ei=_GliVIGvJMaYgwSP4ID4Bg&usg=AFQjCNEVwljJSUqlHbhWy7zvERsXtoWVjw or www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CCYQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmoonlight-sonata-sheet-music.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F04%2FCanon-in-D-Arr.-Lee-Galloway-Piano-Lee-Galloway.pdf&ei=_GliVIGvJMaYgwSP4ID4Bg&usg=AFQjCNHLNGBttLWdMWMz2FR8JFfZH3z0mA

Canon in D is just too open to variations, you can make a 1000 different variation and still keep it as Canon in D (in essence) I don't think theres a true cannon in D anymore. You can only play your canon In D. Because everyone at some points alters the piece to what's suits them best. I personally dislike all the arpeggios most people give it! The piece was meant to be soothing.

thanks Ryan, i thought it was impossible but you made it possible for a rookie like me. Part 6 and 7 were the hardest ones that needed 10 times of practice than other parts, anyway i can do it now. Much appreciated. God bless you.

Bro, your music sheet provided is much harder than your toturial. The pattern of left hand in part 5 has been adjusted in your video. Also, the final part is much different. Is it possible to provide a music sheet that are exact as your toturial?

ive been taking piano lessons for a little less than a year now. i know this song is way out of my league at the moment but i want to attempt to learn it. I know this makes me sound dumb but is there any way you can add the finger numbering on the sheet music for us that haven't managed to learn note proficiency quite yet? i get confused which finger plays where when i move down or up the piano.
@alecquispe94198 жыл бұрын
there no hand position or finger numbering or any other kind of crutch you can use to play this song
@shivam_musician8 жыл бұрын
+Irene Michael I started piano (saw it for the first time when started lessons) in June last year. Now I can play pieces like River Flows in You and Fur Elise (Properly, with proper dynamics and fluid transitions). It just took a passion for the piano.. My practice sessions usually ended with them dragging me out of the room.. :P Time doesn't matter much.. An year is more than enough for pieces like Canon, RFIY, Fur Elise, Comptine D'un Autre' Ete, many more. I'm attempting to clear my first rockschool exam this year, the teacher decided on grade 4 seeing the potential. xD

I know that learning how to play with each finger is usefull but idk, I did learn how to play many songs just by tutorials like this one and its not thaaaat important the way you put your fingers, just let them play with love (?

I've been taking lessons for about three months and I can play songs like fur Elise (the whole thing) and this, you can do it :)
@6060juggler8 жыл бұрын
this song is not at all out of your league . infact it is pretty simple(its hard to play it fast and accurate though) since the left hand does not have to play in various ways but repeats itself thruout the song. i myself play for about 7 months and i almost finished this song and it took me about a month and a half without practicing everyday because of finals.
