Hi, I'm still watching your tutorials..I must say I had to find samples of inversions written on sheet music to compliment your tutorials. I learned that musicians call these major chord inversions, the 5/3 , the 6 and the 6/4. There is so much to learn regarding chords. A topic I dreaded tackling. Thank you for presenting Musical inversions to Utube music students😊, in a manner that engages & challenges the viewer.😊😊

Hi Susan, your videos are very high-quality would be helpful is if you could also mention the finger numbers to use while playing cards, especially when there are flats and sharps involved. Thanks.

Hello from France where it's also good to revise the basics. One thing is comprehension, another one is mastery.... Thank you for your time and energy. My teacher as a kid was an ols never smiling woman. I love your smiling way of teaching !!

I'm restarting with piano after about 50 years. I know I learned scales, but my muscle memory says Nope! It's good to go slowly, and hands together is a challenge, but I'm seeing the benefit. The interval exercise was new to me, and hard at first; I also couldn't quite see the point, but I'm determined to learn what I missed from my (possibly not such great?) lessons. After the C major week - okay, 3 weeks, but I had ComicCon and Covid - it's making sense. Thanks for these very helpful lessons!!

You're welcome! So glad it's starting to come back. Regarding the intervals, this exercise helps you get a sense of how each key "feels". So when you're playing a piece in G Major, all of those interval combinations feel more familiar. Good luck, and hope you made a full recovery (from Covid, not ComicCon. Or do you need a recovery from ComicCon?? 😉)

nice presented and really helpful! only … why go in the interval exercise always one tone up?
@PianoRoadmap Жыл бұрын
Thank you! To answer your question, I like going one note up because it allows your hands to get used to ALL the interval shapes on the keyboard.

How do you play in between black keys when your fingers are too fat?
