Here's my preferred routine, it may not be good for everyone but i think it's pretty productive: Start with finger excercises and warm ups, (20 minutes) Practise Major, Minor, harmonic and melodic scales, (30 minutes) Practise Repertoire and etude pieces (1 hour) Then I like to end off by playing some fun meme pieces or stuff like that for 10 minutes or so

Your videos have been great, working on strengthening fingers, scales and just started arpedggios. About two weeks in and feel improvement already :)

Thanks! Well, for me technique takes most of my time. I overlook how important it is to develop ear. I will try your suggested routine.

Where do you fit in pieces that you are practicing for performance?

So this is an older video, and we just released a newer one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/enWVf6aGpd2HsMU I would practice your repertoire and any performance pieces after warmup and technique! It should be the bulk of you practice time really. Good luck!

My online teacher will free lol told me that since I know alot of songs(lyrics) to them he said you know that is gonna require at learning to sight read... I cringed like you gotta be kidding me lol. I can read some but I end up taking it into memory and not needing the sheet music any more for some songs but I be a good student and listen lol and do it. I often sight read some music I have no clue on how it sounds but I do it for note recognition and to find patterns but I really want to learn Cannon in D😭 i can hum it in my head but my fingers ger crossed up in some sections and it madness with the timing

First my goal is to be able to play something but I don't want to just be bound to only knowing how to play sheet music often time I learn a song buy listen to it or following a tutorial. Yet I find myself reading sheet music but end up taking it to memory and not needing sheet music anymore haha I need a direction. Any tips

Thanks for the tip don't feel bad about playing by ear or memorizing. I really love me some Cannon in D although it is many variations of it. I want to master it but my fingers get twisted up on the fast parts. I will continue to sight read as you say and sight read and take it to memory as quickly as possible lol. I try to learn music that I am interested in so it doesn't seem like a burden. I have picked up random sheet music just enhance my letter reading and I can figure out some of it haha even if I'm not interested in it. Thank for the tips

Thanks, Lisa!😊😍 Ideally, for a not so beginner but not yet intermediate either, how long should we practice in a day? I intend to become a professional piano player😂
