Nate, if you were my son, I'd be extremely proud of you. You started at a young age and continued to learn. Good going. I hope your parents are really proud of you! Note: I learned "Creep" from YT at Nach Pozo's channel. Although Nacho speaks Spanish, he sings in English. His tutorials are easy to follow for a non-Spanish like myself. Thanks for this one. I play this on guitar; now I'll be able to play it on piano.

Thanks for the kind words, Eddie. I am familiar with Nacho, he's great! I love how he produces his performances with drums and everything.

Loved this tutorial! I like the way you refer to the original recording often and discuss how it's influenced your arrangement choices. Your use of dynamics is just gorgeous and it really demonstrates how to 'perform' this song and get the best out of the instrument. If you ever get the chance to do a tutorial on Fake Plastic Trees, that'd be super. Thanks.

Excellent tutorial. This helped me a lot to learn the song. Might I suggest one slight variation? On the main riff that it starts with, when it gets to the 4th measure when your left hand goes to a b-flat, while your right hand is walking up the notes, your right hand can replicate the bass in the song by walking down on that measure from b-flat (2x) to A, to F. I think it adds a lot and sounds closer to the original. Hope that makes sense. Great work as always though. Thank you.
@PianowithNate Жыл бұрын
Oh yes! Colin's bassline indeed does that...you've got a good ear :) It's always tricky to draw the line between what details from a recording I'm going to include vs exclude (so that the video is not overly long, and not too difficult for my largely beginner/intermediate audience). I think you're right though, this should have been included. Cheers!

I love your videos! Ever try any Beach House? They have some great melodies...On The Sea is so great!
@@PianowithNate yes, I found it later. Space Song! Maybe someday 'On The Sea' by them? I love Space Song too, dont get me wrong...but On The Sea is very special to me...I love that line "Wouldn't you like to know/How far you've got/Left to go?"...sometimes when we are going through a rough patch it would be nice to know how much longer it will last, as opposed to feeling like it will never end. I actually picked a bit of it out once when I was playing along to some Beach House, but I just noodle the leads, 2 hands is tough. Im a guitarist that likes to noodle on organ/piano. Can do very little,hence finding your channel. Must learn proper fingerings instead of winging it, this I know.
