I've always loved, and have always been curious about the final chord of this song from when I was a kid. Things didn't look too promising when I saw you repeatedly hit the A sharp with the right hand during the outro, but come that final chord, you nailed it. Great job! Now I know what the chord actually is 👍

@@PianowithNate I have already "too much on my plate" with all your videos ( almost thinking of quitting my job) . I would add "Only love remains" (which is a piano song), "Baby's Request" ( jazzy), "Tomorrow", "The Back Seat of my car", "It never happened before"... I had found a couple of months ago a cover of Band on the Run on piano that I found quite impressive (but it was not a tutorial --- not even possible to take down the notes played ). But after this one, I am going to Strawberry Fields.

Really good. Thanks for the tutorial, although I think McCartney does octaves with his right hand in the instrumental part. I do it that way and it sounds pretty cool.
@PianowithNate Жыл бұрын
It definitely sounds cool! It's hard to tell if it's played on piano or we are just hearing the higher octave added by the orchestral instruments. Either way, quick octave melodies are a bit challenging for much of my audience here, so I left it out in the video, but I think it is awesome when people build on my arrangements. Cheers!

@13Sala13 Жыл бұрын
The Bm7 chord in the verse, I'm also playing a B in the right hand. The D7 I have a D in the right hand. I get that your video is aimed at a certain skill level so are you simplifying the chords a bit, or are you playing what you think McCartney plays? Thanks for the video.
@PianowithNate Жыл бұрын
Hi! It's a good question, and I am revisiting now with headphones. I'm usually pretty good at picking out details but I am genuinely torn on if the right hand is also adding the root on those chords or not. It is a subtle difference, accentuating the root note slightly more, and while it changes the character a tiny bit, it doesnt really change the color. My honest opinion (I'm sure others would disagree)is...in this case it isn't super important to make sure to do it EXACTLY as he did...either of these options sound "close enough," and the deciding factor should be a combination of what feels best for your hand and what sounds best to your ears (sometimes this is even dependent on a particular piano!). Hope that was useful, cheers!

On the line "live and let die", Paul doesn’t plays the G7 on the word "die" but one beat later
@PianowithNate Жыл бұрын
You're correct! At least for the first "die" of each chorus, they hit together on the second line. I believe I did it right in my performance but I was indeed a little sloppy with it in the lesson itself

Thanks for a great tutorial, but your note 'spellings' are wrong ! Harmonically, there's a huge difference between G# and Ab or C# and Db, even though they are enharmonics - but other than that, good stuff.
@PianowithNate Жыл бұрын
Hi James! You are totally right. Unfortunately, for songs like this one that don’t fit neatly in one key, I am at the mercy of my midi software. To set it to display all #s or all bs, it often produces natural signs on white keys which looks messy and confusing as well. I’ve been writing the developer begging for more control :) Glad you still enjoyed it though!
