Hey Nuno, I'm just using D'Addario nickle wound guitar strings. I can't remember the gauge. Regular guitar strings are just long enough for my Ibanez Mikro, but you have to feed them through washers because the ball ends will pull right through the bridge. Piccolo bass strings are way more expensive, and are literally the same strings with larger ball ends. Washers are cheap!

Curious what strings you used. Are they piccolo bass strings or like guitar or baritone guitar strings?

I just use regular D'addario guitar strings because they are way cheaper than piccolo bass strings. I feed them through washers because the string holes on the bridge are too large to accept guitar string ball ends. I've used piccolo bass strings on a 34" bass before. 34" is way too long for reasonable piccolo string tension so I picked up the mikro. They are amazing little basses!

Evan Veenstra what gauge strings you would you recommend for tuning the 5 string beadg an octave up. Would a 7 string set of guitar strings be more ideal for that tuning or does the scale make the regular guitar strings have enough tension for that tuning?

​@@nephilymbass1 I've never tuned a piccolo bass beadg, but I would recommend going with a 7 string set of guitar strings. In this video I used a regular 6 string set tuned eadgc.
