The one thing, you described it as someone “new” coming in but I felt as though you were describing our marriage. Could I also suggest looking into his love language (if you haven't done so already)... his love language may be different from yours. The belief with the 5 love languages is that we all speak, give, receive love in a different language. The five love languages are words of affirmation, physical touch, gift-giving, spending quality time together, and acts of service. So for example, your love language may be words of affirmation, and his predominant love language may be physical touch. You can say you love him and how much he means to you until the cows come home, but if his predominate love language is physical touch .. words of affirmation might not have as much of an effect as physical touch (hugging him, being affectionate, kissing him on the cheek, holding hands, rubbing his back, cuddling, sitting close to each other, etc) ... To truly convey your love to him you would have to speak his love language. There are online quizzes you can both take together and the famous book 5 Love Languages goes more into depth. If his love language is also words of affection then that's great! For example, a person I know, her love language is words of affirmation, and her bf's love language is physical touch and spending quality time together. However, the problem is she's not really an affectionate person (she's working on it though b/c that's his predominant love language--that's how he expresses/prefers to receive love--he's a really affectionate man). For her bf, if he doesn't receive a lot of affection, he will think he's not loved. She could tell him until the cows come home how much she loves him but the words won't mean much if they're not backed up with affection. He's not good with verbally expressing his feelings but he shows them through affection and spending quality time together, etc... My mom's love language is gift-giving and acts of service... she's not really an affectionate person nor does she give words of affirmation. It took me a long time to realize that and accept it. I realize my love languages are affection and spending quality time together (not just sitting on the couch watching TV-but actively engaging in something).

I feel you. I was in separation for two years from my counterpart. I’ve always known it was him and that something meaningful would come from the union. I experienced a lot of heartache and trauma through the separation but when I started the inner work on myself and made it my “job” to balance my masculine and feminine energy, I attracted him right back into my life. The separation is a blessing for you both, it hives you the time and space to truly heal and to evolve. This is when we are truly tested to do our hard test work and to keep faith. Union comes from within, in my experience, it came from balance and nurturing and loving myself. All of the things I experienced were projections of what was going on internally.
