Just finished up harvest here in northern South Dakota. The corn was so dry, 12-14 percent, after a warm and dry September and October. I hope you have good weather for corn harvest.

When we finished planting, we weren't sure if it wouldn't be 100% silage with an early frost. Which would be devastating. Now we're done a week before Halloween and half of the fieldwork is done to seedbed. God is good. Bins are mostly full.

We generally don't do custom harvesting. In this situation the guys we are "custom" combining for are the same neighbour's that help put up our feed. We call it custom but really it is neighbour's helping neighbours

I would say some of our fields were border line to dry but for the most part you are right the conditions were prefect
