Nice review Chloe and fair...this mouthpiece was designed to be an All-around mouthpiece and was commissioned by me for the great Ryan Anthony (my 'Wingman' in the Canadian Brass). When Ryan became ill and needed to continue playing Principal Trumpet in the Dallas Symphony, he needed a mouthpiece that would would help fulfill his duty in terms of tone and flexibility with a major orchestra but not make the work as hard to accomplish. Anyone who thinks that trumpet should be 'hard work' is NOT thinking efficiently and Ryan was one of the most efficient players in history. Thanks for keeping his legend alive!

Makes it even better with this background info about why this mouthpiece was made! Used this for a pops show this week and it really came through! Thanks for the recommendation

Sounds like a keeper! I've recently purchased my first Pickett mouthpiece (cornet) and love it. You sound good, by the way, Chloe. Thanks for the review!

I ordered this mouthpiece because of your review. I got the acrylic top with the #2/27 shank. I really liked it when I first got it, but the more I play it, the better I love it. It's really a great all around mouthpiece. It's good for high and low notes, has great response (my multiple tonguing has always been a weakness, but is much better with this mouthpiece), and has nice flexibility. Also, it works great on my C trumpet, my cornet (with a cornet shank), and my piccolo so I don't have to change mouthpieces at all. Like you, all these are Yamahas except the piccolo which is a Kanstul. The only negative is that I don't think that my tone is quite as good as it is on a couple of other mouthpieces I own. However, I've never played on an acrylic mouthpiece before; I'm going to order the brass cup and maybe that will fix that. Thanks for your video. Good luck with your career!

Glad I found your channel. I am a classical guitarist and music educator, but I also dabble on piano and trumpet. I am currently playing on a very old mouthpiece that has no markings on it. It came on a trumpet I had found in an old attic as a child, a trumpet that said something like “Paris 1900” on it. I no longer have that instrument but I’ve always played on that mouthpiece and found no other mouthpieces to feel as good as that one. My only concern is that I do not know the size of it (I would be just curious to know) and I don’t even know if the size could be determined because it is clearly handmade. Also, it is made of pure brass and not plated, and that has me a bit concerned, so I keep washing it so as not to “eat brass” when I practice :-) Anyhow … I’ve been trying a couple Bach mouthpieces, like the 5C, 3C, and 3E. The 3E was alright but my mouthpiece still feels so much better. The rims on my are flat and wide and quite comfortable to play. Do you think there is a way to figure out what size or shape this mouthpiece is? Do you think playing on raw brass is an issue? I would LOVE to try the mouthpiece you reviewed in this video at some point. Is there ANY way to ever try mouthpieces before buying? Your content is great.

It sounds like you have been playing that mouthpiece for years! I am going to Pikett Brass tomorrow for a mouthpiece fitting. I am looking forward to something more suitable for me.

Wonderful demo! Great sounding in all styles and registers. In my opinion your low register was actually better on the Wingman. It was more focused and in tune. I just ordered one from Pickett Brass. Can hardly wait to play it!

High school senior trumpet player here. I have an audition in 3 weeks for music school😭😭. I’m so nervous. Do you have any tips for trumpet auditions specifically? What should I expect( I know it will vary, but I’m absolutely clueless.)Please share any experience, it would be so helpful (video idea). How do you get past a plateau in playing? Have any funny stories from gigs or other dramas from music related things? how’d you start playing trumpet, and for how long? We’re you in high school band, marching band maybe, or drum corps? (Those were all things I would absolutely watch for videos.)Also, I found you on instagram, and I’m such a huge fan. I’m the only female trumpeter at my school, and your example is so empowering. I don’t really know of many famous female trumpeters that aren’t white. You’re so underrated, and you deserve so much more. I’m not trying to hate on anybody, I just am proud to see the representation. Btw, congrats on your wedding!!!

This comment made my week! I’ll be sure to make a video this week about trumpet auditions and how to prepare for them! You have so many great video recommendations here! Would love to do all of these. Keep it up with your playing! It can be discouraging to not see other people who look like you playing your instrument. I have definitely struggled with that, especially since college. But I will definitely say that I have always felt so inspired when I find other players I can connect to and look up to - either in person or online. Thanks for your comment and thanks so much for watching 💚

I'm on the "going compact" journey myself after years of playing tubs. This mouthpiece is on the shortlist,.and stumbled across your page. Curious about the bite and feel on the rim, but one person's sharp bite is another person's soft. Anyways, you got a new sub. 😁

You would really switch mouthpieces days before a recital? Also, I'd stick with the stork and talk to the people at stork with your concerns, they can offer a ton of info and help.

(Pure torture) ... with waaaay too much (ChitChat) about the packaging,...opening the box,......her recitals, ....yada, yada, yada. There's only 24 hours in a day. Couldn't get through the first two minutes of her Video. So I just went to the website and did my own research...this worked out MUCH BETTER.
