Picking and Carding Alpaca

In the video we take our washed alpaca fibre and pick and card on a drum carder. A few tips are offered to achieve a wonderfully prepared spinning fibre.

You might want to invest in a good pair of wool combs. They are best for getting ride of the vegetable matter. I also have a Brother drum-carder. I comb everything before I put the fibre on my carder.

Thank you for sharing. I do have a couple pairs of wool combs but with shorter fibres my go to is the drum carder sometimes used in conjunction with a flick carder.
