Oh my god, I will admit I'm biased but Raya is not as good as every "pundit" says. They are lazy and just go "well, most clean sheets, must be good". He is carried by Saliba, Gabriel, White. He has faced the least shots of any first choice goalkeeper, 15th in save percentage, and using websites with in depth statistics and stuff I can't understand and I won't say that I do, he has a -2 in PSxG-GA which is 15th against 1st choice keepers (I think PSxG-GA represents how many goals are likely to have scored minus what he conceded). I don't like bringing up stats but it's what I have to resort to because seemingly everyone can't stop praising him and for no reason.

the recency bias to pick gvardial is crazy he had a good month or 2, udogie was better until mid april when gvardial started playing well. One of the arguments being “he’s scored some big goals” when he’s scored 2 goals all season with one being irrelevant as they went out the UCL, he hadn’t scored until april yet he’s “scored some good goals?” 😭

Szoboszlai and Maddison would've been tap ins for this team at the halfway point of the season but it's unfortunate how much they've regressed the 2nd half. I think the injury really hindered Maddison and Szobo just looks absolutely dead tired. I think both will have strong seasons next season having adapted to their new teams fully

Porro was at spurs last season, that's why they had to clarify why they included him, it's not about being on loan, it's about where you were playing the season before. If Arsenal doesn't win the league, you can look at Rayas 2 mistakes against Spurs and Chealsea that cost the club 4 points. His stats look hugely impressive, but if you watched the games, you would have seen a keeper that really had very little to do this season. The stats are a tribute to the 10 players in front of him. From the front 5 who have been relentless in their high press to the back for who allowed City only 2 shots in 150 minutes of football. Ramsdale never had this in front of him for more than a handful of games in his Arsenal career. The 2 games where we lost the 4 points were games that Arsenal should have one but for his mistakes.

@Rooler694 it wasn't Ramsdale's keeping that let us down it was the injuries that killed us. We had now backups for our 2 most important ball progresses in Saliba and Partey. Yes, Ramesdale let in some howlers, but he also won use games with his saves, which Raya hasn't done yet. The most recent was the community shield against City. where he made 2 brilliant saves to keep the score 1 nil, giving us a chance to draw the game late, and then in the shotout, he made another big stop helping us win the silverware. Had Ramsdale had Saliba and partey for the whole season, we win the title, and he gets the golden glove. Don't get me wrong, Raya is a decent keeper, but he is not worth the 40 mil it will cost us to sign him and get a backup. There is just not enough of an improvement when we need at least 4 players to fill the squad out. There is not 1 person who thought we needed a new keeper at the beginning of last summer. If we don't win the title the reason will be because we drew against Chelsea and Tottnumb, games we should have won but for Rayas poor keeping.All our other dropped points this season were in game where we just did not play well enough to will.
