@@piasprojects i love the mk3 variant as well the joker is the perfect special edition. Hopefully my cabrio will be at helen again next year as long as all goes well.

I run a 1600 in my 66 ...but built a type 3 transmission ,short axle for it ..... .89 final drive ratio,75 85 mph not a problem...I suggest you do the same ..

Very cool!! Don't touch the paint and patina . But I like the idea of refreshing the interior . Also looks like missing wipers . Should definitely get those . Possibly update the brakes , get a bigger better engine (type IV perhaps) and transmission . Really doesn't look like it needs a whole lot .

I have owned 3 air cooled beetles but not for a long time . When you started it up I didn't realize how much I missed that sound .

Thank you! I agree with you it is VERY COOL! I have no plans to touch the paint or repaint the Beetle, even though 1 insurance company said they wouldn’t insure it unless I did. Interior refresh with some creature comforts for sure. Different wheel options will happen. I really don’t plan on changing the motor, at least not anytime soon. I totally agree at minimum front disc brake conversion. This will be a fun project and cruiser!

To do some shows, & just spend time enjoying it again... Watching your first drive is a reminder what I miss about it for sure. 👍🏽
