We had a Roo for 17 years and absolutely loved it and never had a problem with it! We just sold it for $5000 and bought another Rockwood but a 2 slide out, queen bed ultra lite!

We just purchased a 2024 Rockwood Roo 233S a few weeks ago. We are not picking it up and doing our demo until October 14th. Can't wait to get out and enjoy it

Thanks!! It really does allow us to have a little more consistency when traveling with the kids. We are also able to cook for ourselves and save money on food expenses.

Hi. We have a 2021 Roo 233s and tow with a 2019 Tahoe. I loved the real world approach to your video and the tidbits that will prove helpful to others. I will follow your adventures as you rack up the miles. Incidentally, the scraping bottom at your driveway scenario is very real for many people. I have a very slight elevation to my parking pad and had to place boards to keep from losing a stabilizer jack.

Thanks for watching!! We always try to show the real world aspects. All too often KZbin is about showing the highlight reels of our lives. It’s not always the case and we like to share that. Happy camping!!

Some campers you can put the sewer hose inside your back bumper so it doesn't contaminate anything in your cabinets. So try that also.
@thefunparent2 жыл бұрын
We actually do have the sewer hose in the rear bumper. That Rubbermaid container is the attachments for hooking up to sewer and my hose to flush.

Hi. Love this video. Im thinking of getting this same model. I currently have a 2010 shadow cruisers hybrid but we've outgrown it. My only concern is i have a 21 colorado z71 with towing package 7000 lbs max. Do you think id be ok? My weight in my truck with kids,wife, dog is roughly 550 lbs. Maybe another 150 lbs in bed.
@thefunparent Жыл бұрын
I’d say you are going to have hitch weight concerns but that’s something you have to confirm with what your vehicle manufacturer limits are.

Thanks!! We have plans to park it on the other side of the house. Just have to do some landscaping first.

Any lessons learned with the Roo? We've got a 233S and, like you, found it smoother to pull than the popup. Mine does not have the 12V Refrigerator but think I would like to add that with the solar panels. Do they keep the battery charged while traveling and running it? Thanks!
@thefunparent Жыл бұрын
I have a video coming out on pros and cons one year in along with what we learned about needs vs wants vs no need anymore after 1 year. Overall the solar definitely works. We have left the fridge running for a few days between trips and still had 80+% battery life. In fact, I very rarely see the batteries below 100% for just running the fridge. We have not done any dry camping yet to really test it though.

How much have ya all been paying for these? I am looking at picking one up but want to make sure I am shopping the best price.
@thefunparent3 ай бұрын
If you’re looking new, $30-35k is average.

Hi! What's the towing capacity stats of your Chevy as well as weight of the trailer? We have an Expedition but not sure it can tow the roo.
@thefunparent Жыл бұрын
Our Tahoe max weight is 6600 lbs. the max weight of the trailer with full load is 6100lbs. We have had a few times where once we put stuff in our trunk we got some sagging in the rear.
@thefunparent Жыл бұрын
I would make sure you’re checking payload capacity and not just towing capacity. Both are very important. The Tahoe suffers from only having a 1500 lb payload. The hitch weight on the camper is 600 lbs. That means that we only have another 900 lbs to account for passengers, gas, and anything else we put in the car.

Drop your hitch and you won’t bottom out..
@thefunparent8 ай бұрын
Issue is the hitch will then bottom out. Driveway is just too steep.
