Back in the day I was selling Kawasaki bikes when the all new Kawasaki Z1 900 was introduced. What a cool find, I remember those bikes very well, at that time the Z1 was the MOST POWERFUL bike I had ever ridden...and it wanted to KILL ME! The Z1 had a fairly flat straight and very slick vinyl seat cover that wanted to shoot ya right off the back, so if one were to crack that throttle wide open you best be prepared and hang on. The first time I rode one I opened the throttle at about 50 mph in 4th gear and it dang near left me behind when that beast freaking came alive....that's when I realized the need for a better seat design with more grip and better profile! The Z1 900 was a genuine game changer, the latest and greatest Japanese built bike of that time! These days I ride a Harley Super Glide with nearly twice the CC's and half the speed of the Z1, the first bike that wanted to kill me ;-)

Jim, I gotta tell you, I personally find you extremely refreshing and encouraging. You seem to be an overly honest, naturally nice person. (Possibly to a fault) I for one hope you never change. I think you could've got a little more money for the Hudson and could have easily asked an additional 500 to a 1000 for all the spare parts. I'm glad no one tried to haggle with you and you got your asking prices. You know, It's nice to know that people like you still exist. Hope to see more of you. Good luck to you and your feline family. Take care and Be well....

I always stick the front tire over in the left corner of the trailer so the steering doesn't turn, I also stand it up straight and not on the kick stand, had a bike go through the wooden floor of a trailer one time because of the kickstand. Just some food for thought Chad. Nice bike, I like them old inline four cylinders. Go like the Nor'west wind on them.

Friend of mine from high school still has his CB750. It was the 3rd CB750 sold in Canada. That was a great bike. It's a sunny and dry day driver these days. Regular maintenance and an engine rebuild about 5 years ago. Pretty much it. Crude bike by today's standard but it's really cool. Hope you can make the Z1 the bike you want it to be. Whatever that is.

Those old KZ bikes were great Kawasaki had the best weight to power ratio during that era ! It wasn’t any surprise to me that they wound up producing the fastest production bike right after. Those of course the Ninja I used to ride a KZ 1000 that was awfully fast but still felt right at high speeds as far as weight on both tires and overall balance on the bike it wasn’t bad on fuel mileage as well in those times I lived in South Florida and rode with a group of guys that we would ride “ Balls Out “ up to Lake Okacobee around the Lake and back home Via Turnpike in those days the traffic was at a minimum and the Police left us alone providing we signaled and acted responsibly in traffic
