And if you don’t pay online in a very short period of time, they tack on a huge penalty. Like 10 times the toll or something like that. I hate this system. I got caught by it in Chicago one time.

My husband & I drove through a toll booth 3 times, they never sent us anything on the bill then one day we get this bill for 250.00 they sent it to a collection service. Ny. They don't have anywhere for you to pay, you have to pay online. We didn't even know.
@fleetskipper18104 ай бұрын
This happened to me as well. Got stuck in a real traffic jam on a toll highway in Chicago and couldn’t get over to go through the tollbooth. They took a picture of our license plate and within a few hours the bill was online. I had only a very small window of time to pay it without being charged a big penalty. it was very difficult for a non-local to figure out, luckily, I had a local friend who clued me in. So I avoided the penalty, but it was a pain, let me tell you. What a system.
