This was one of southern Wisconsin's first "nice" days this season. The windscreens have yet to be put up, and the wind is blowing in the far team's face, contributing to short returns. It takes a while to adjust to playing outside after playing inside the last 6 months.

I get it. It was very difficult to tell how windy it was. There are no leaves on the trees!

Yeah, they just don't look quite skilled enough to get those returns deep, a lot of "lack of command/control" in all of their points. Not just shot technique either, footwork, tactics, placement... all very inconsistent. Wind factors in a bit, but good players adjust quickly after a few points. Under the 2024 I think you are mistaken about the yellow shirt being illegal. Didn't they just change the rules that you can wear anything except something that is considered "offensive" without defining what exactly offensive is?

Not top level players, thus, not skilled shots. We hit drop shots near the net to offset long returns, usually a win shot since it catches the serving team off guard. This is a decent video for beginning players.

Maybe they haven't been playing long? I'm sure most people don't start out as 5.0 players. I'm sure they can do better with practice.
