Played Rec with a guy who wore down his Selkirk LUXX every month. Went through 5 paddles and had to fight Selkirk for a new paddle. Awesome MMA segment. Good luck to both of you guys in 25.

I'm encouraged to hear the advice about someone wanting to be a content creator and just to get started, and do it, and figure it out. I have a mishmosh of videos out but it's a grind. I'm big on content and low on production, which is a weakness and opportunity. Time is the most limited resource for me.... Anyway, thank you - love this interview and congrats on 4.0 gold.

Your comments about Andrei don't seem accurate to me. I play with a Proton Type A and watched every match he played with that paddle. Over time, I could see the center of the face was getting progressively darker so I believe he was using the same paddle -- at least until he switched entirely. The pine tar was disappointing but one explanation was that he did it as a loaner to play against someone with more spin than normal. Then when the testing came, the wrong paddle was used. I hope that is true about the pine tar, but of course am not sure. I am loving my 11mm Proton Type A. The only negative is that the spin drops off a little in colder temperatures. I have spent a LOT on paddles over the years because the grit wears off on them too easily. For my game, this is the best paddle I have ever used. Lots of pop, really good control, but strangely seems to have less power than expected. For my game it is perfect.

After three years of going back and forth between paddles- I fully realize and accept that I cannot play with a power paddle. Balls pop all over the place if I am hitting, and if I am receiving a hard ball, balls pop all over the place. Also my spin is not good enough to hit hard and keep the ball inbounds. I surrender to the power paddle in 2025. The End
