The "Tennis" game only works up to about 3.5 to 4.0, once you get to a solid 4.0 or higher the Picklers begin to really dominate. If a player like Jack's partner can't really handle pace (demonstrated in the match) the Tennis guys have a chance. Awesome vid Rory!

Just played against a young team that played the I-formation. Couldn’t figure out how to overcome that style of play. We lost 3 out of 4 games. This video is gonna help for next time. Thanks

If the ball goes to your forehand, use your forehand, If the ball goes to your backhand, use your backhand. If you are running around the ball to hit your preferred forehand or backhand, you need to spend more time practicing your weaknesses.

Yes. But, a player can probably play an entire game without hitting a backhand. Thanks for watching.

i agree, jackie got excited to play banger style. if their dinking game was a bit better it would have been a blowout. was pretty obvious the tennis guys had no patience at the net.

Let the out balls go out and make the ball bounce in front of them. Better to lose points playing your own game than to lose playing into theirs.

When playing with bangers I return the ball to their feet, preferably to their non-dominant side or I loosen my grip and drop their hard-hit drive just over the net. In the first case, I am giving the banger an unattackable ball and in the second case, an unreachable ball. If they try to attack a ball down at their feet, it’s going out. If they run fast enough to get to my drop shot, they will pop it up too high most of the time and regret it. If you return a ball so that it bounces in front of them they will bang it right back at you again.

Tennis dude has incredibly fast hands. I see a lot of fake poaching out of tennis players like this guy did. Its an advantage that most non tennis players don't use and quite distracting. Game wouldn't have been close if the pickleball players let quite a few of the drives go long. I know it is easier said than done but when I play bangers I remind myself that is one of the big weakness of bangers is hitting long if you let them.

It is. If I'm playing bangers, if they take a full swing midcourt, I'm letting the ball go. Thanks for watching.

No way tennis players will ever beat actual 4.0 level pickleball players. Those 2 were not 4.0

2:13 that ball was not “unattackable”, she just doesn’t know how to attack it properly.

Rory, At 2:58, referring to some tennis players , you say they have no touch, they have no Short game. Short game is a Golf term referring to play close to the green like putting and chip shots. Short, referring to the short distance to the green. I think you mean Soft game, meaning resets from all over the court and dinking at the NVZ. Soft, referring to soft touch in resets and dinks.
@pickleballpick-apart9787
@pickleballpick-apart9787 Ай бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out. I'll be sure to use soft game.
@okayest_amateur
@okayest_amateur Ай бұрын
3.5 at best. How can you be 4.0 and not have a reset? The far court was not much better either. They kept trying to go for a lob which is a low percentage point conversion shot. I'm fine with the 3rd shot drives but they completely miss the point of the 3rd shot drive which is to setup a drop in transition. Far side court was weak on blocks and counters as well. Soft game is useless unless you can also block and counter. But what I liked about the near court is their adherence to first strike principle. Always be the agressors in a pickleball match. First to strike first to win. Unless your speeding up with an upward trajectory you should win most of the points that you hit down on.

I dont get why you are against backhands. My backhand is actually much better than my forehand so i wont run around a ballmjust to hit my forehand.

You are an exception. Most players forehand are better than their backhand. Thanks for watching.
