With My Shoulder Surgery’s over the last year your videos have done so much to lift my spirits… Thank You! Soon I will be able to return to Mother Water, stroke my paddle and hear my Qajaq glide upon the water. ThX

So beautiful. Surprised by how many people were out kayaking. You never see that many around here.

Things have gotten better with the Park Service managing outfitters and tours a bit better but there is still some potential for improvements. There are a few areas that the boat trips really hit hard. So much so that in some areas the infrastructure can be over run. Mosquito beach had this cool composting toilet for a while but then the hoards descended from tour boats and massive kayak tours and mis-used it and it was ruined. Luckily there are some changes afoot to keep this amazing place pristine and protected.

I anchored off grand island a few years ago and felt like I was living in a fishbowl. Every tourboat and rented pontoon boat did a slow pass with everyone staring at the wacko in the catamaran! Still a beautiful place and a welcome all weather anchorage.

It was a weird feeling getting away from Chapel when ALL the boats disappeared. From so busy to so empty within a few hundred meters. And going the opposite way of the tours also had people wondering. A few guides asked me where my tour group was. Not a lot of independent adventurers out there.
