Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore - What To See?

Our last stop in the Michigan Upper Peninsula was Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This National Park sits on the shores of Lake Superior and features 200ft tall colorful sandstone cliffs. Along the coast, we visited Miners Castle, Log Slide, and Grand Sable Dunes. We would highly recommend all of those! We originally were going to rent a pontoon boat through Seaburg Pontoon Rentals, but had to change plans due to high winds. Instead, we went with Pictured Rocks Cruises out of Munising. We were on the classic cruise, but since we had extra time the captain took us all the way out to Spray Falls. You definitely need to see Pictured Rocks from the water for the full experience!

We have been on the boat tour a couple of times. Last year was the second time and we always enjoy it. A pontoon boat would be a great idea. We will be up there again in a few weeks and were thinking about trying a kayak tour but with as cold as it has gotten, maybe a pontoon would be a better idea. I'm going to look into that. One of our favorite things we did on our 2021 summer road trip--tour through Michigan--was to rent a pontoon boat for 1/2 day so we could travel along Pictured Rocks. It was awesome. We have a video that shares our adventure too. :) We agree. The best way to see Pictured Rocks is from the water. ~Wilson and Kelli

We tried to rent one but the wind didn't cooperate. We were a little bummed about it, but the big boat tour was still really good. Did you head over to the Apostle Islands too by chance?
