YES INDEED AND THANK YOU! ...and what I do love the most is that it really is taking advantage of its new living space and enjoying the extra room...now for how long...I'm not quite sure...but I have a feeling it will need to be repotted again before I know it! OH NO!!!! IT'S GOING TO EAT ME OUT OF A HOUSE AND A BIRD CAGE! LOL!

Grammatophyllums are crazy. My Broga Tiger started as a single bulb division last April. It now fills a 10" pot and has 13 bulbs. If I'm good, maybe it will give me two spikes from each of the 8 new growths it has put out this year.

WOWEEEEEEEEEEE! TALK ABOUT A MONSTER! I would love to see all of the blooms when they flower! It should be spectacumazing! ...YOU SHOULD DO A VIDEO OF IT!!!! HINT, HINT, HINT! I have one about double that ones’ size. It had five huge spikes this summer. I have no idea what I’m going to do with it in terms of dividing it and repotting it. Be real careful with it this winter, it cannot tolerate the cold, bring it into a pool enclosure or protected place. I had heat lamps and gas heaters everywhere for my ferns and orchids. Even when I did, with the one night of “cold” it got, it suffered a little.

WOW YOU GOT THE MAMA MONSTER! LOL! It will be quite a mission to divide and repot, but I am sure you will do fine...and my gramma has actually stayed outdoors in my garden for about 3 years now even during the winter time and it has extremely well with not even any damage to the leaves. I do plan on covering majority of my plants though with thin blankets to offer them protection. I live in Florida so our winters are not too bad.

I ordered a grammatophyllum last year snd split them up and nailed them to a palm tree today. I hope they flourish . I got 5 splits. wish me luck

Yay, I've been fascinated with these things o:❤. I don't know if I could ever keep one as it would have to have a greenhouse or room to itself lol.

They are fascinating but as you have mentioned they do take a whole lot of space and once they are mature and established they are quite aggressive growing monsters!!! “Little Shop of Orchid Horrors” ...FEED ME SEYMORE!!! LOL!!!

I read somewhere that roots without green tips are supposed to be "desiccated", so does it mean it needs more water? How do you know when to water it?
@PictureMaria14 жыл бұрын
Roots can die back or become dry and desiccated due to lack of watering, humidity, cold temperatures, infections, over fertilizing or bad reaction to a type of fertilizer, supplement or other chemical to feed or treat the plant...so it just really depends on what your plant is suffering from that will determine the course of action in trying to restore it to a healthy state.

I’ve noticed in my Gramm. that it’s always producing happy sap. I’m going sure it’s natural for it or not. I thought it had a bug infestation and it doesn’t.

You know what I'm not quite sure but I do believe it is! ...and yes that would be very wise to start looking for spots where they will thrive and of course with enough space...because they can become quite hunger dunga wunga monsters and before you know it! LOL! ENJOY THEM AND HAPPY GROWING!

how to make grammatophyllum so big
@PictureMaria14 жыл бұрын
They are plants that are known to get quite huge. There really is no special trick other than give them proper care and fertilize. I got mine at pretty huge sizes already so I avoided the wait time. Of course they will cost more but I feel it was worth it. Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING!

Some orchid nurseries carry them, but if you can't find one in your area you can also search online. I purchased mine on eBay.
