It's success would lead its way to Hollywood when Columbia Pictures under the supervision of Jack Warner adapted the critically acclaimed musical for the big screen with much of the original Broadway cast. The ironic thing about the argument about pins was like saltpeter they were probably a war time necessity as well. Women would probably be expected to sew uniforms and other cloth essentials that the army needed at the time. I believe Benjamin Franklin's daughter helped knit socks for the army, which as silly as it might sound can be essential to a soldier's well being and health in the field.

Well, you only need one needle unless it breaks. Depending on what you're sewing, you may need more pins for a larger item.

Its not a surprise since I just watched this video, but I'm a huge American history fan. Specifically the Independence War. I know quite a lot if I do say so myself. Unfortunately, I don't live in the USA any longer and don't get many chances to discus this subject. I feel like John Adams in my school, for I too, have such a desire to knock heads together! All they do is talk about stupid things we already know. If the teacher said "The sky is blue." Half the kids would be blown away and the other half would argue that it is not. And this is in 10th grade! One week in History we were learning about different types of government and we spent a week on the American Revolution. I learned nothing since it was taught in the most elementary of terms. For homework I had to answer some questions regarding what we learned. I struggled, but was able to answer them in elementary terms as well. (But what kind of American Revolution paper is one that never let's you bring up Commander in Chief George Washington???) My teacher said "I'm sorry, I don't understand this." About the whole paper. I had no answer. Adams and I really are kindred spirits. God help me in my last two years of high school.

Every time I hear the actors/singers William Daniels as John Adams and Virginia Vestoff as Abigail Adams, I can't help but think how much a much better singer she is with a more melodic voice than he has. They fail at harmony in these songs because he hasn't the range. All the same, I love these songs, so I excuse William Daniels' limitations as there is great chemistry between he and Virginia Vestoff.
