This program was held and recorded almost an year ago at Alhmra art council, I attended it and founded the VC very rude and humiliating and gender biased during entire program he continued humiliating Miss Aqsa repeatedly and the students who dared to ask the questions.

These old souls, being insecure themselves, in big offices, thinks that they know everything and they don’t want to let other people solve anything. This is typical Pakistani Sarkari Afsar behavior, they can destroy whole departments or sometimes generations instead of listening to others.

The problem is not with the curriculum and something else . Only one thing is that monopoly of one institution on whole system. Last 70 years, we only taught students to glorify national anthem in universities. Students only got in universities as they supposed to get. Secondly, authoritarian approach at teaching level is one of the soul factors that led the nations at this level. Critical thinking is discouraged.

Addressing to the second question posed by the moderator Mr. Qasim Kasuri used some of the fancy words which are used in routine by people of same sectir as his, but the irony is even though creativity and critical thinking is practiced in the classrooms of private sector, these are most of the time oral activities. Students are given a lot of writing work afterwards as homework!!!

Respected Penalist, First 40- 50 years education system produces ( roughly) 80 % for local needs and 20% for international market. Now only top 10 - 20 institutions are producing 100% for international market. Rest institutions are producing for routine clerical jobs. Those who are going to international market have become Slaves ( More Mental,some financially). Is anyone interested to Educate masses in Pakistan. Conciously total infrastructure has been destroyed ( Peelay Schools/ Colleges).

I think when they say that curriculum is not important or less important, it is their narrow view of curriculum. And even if we have problems with curriculum implementer (teachers) then i believe we need to make sound teacher training curriculum for pre-service and in-service teachers. In addition, when the Kasuri sahb gave example of Finnish Curriculum, the one of the most important parts of the Finnish Curriculum is bridging gap between the theory and practice which we lack in Pakistan. Simply, curriculum should not be underrated.

pakistani education is a real problem. since in fsc we are reading mr chips novel for the last 50 years. It was introduced in 1970s, it is in english syllabus since then. i read it, my father, my old uncle, my college professor, my college dean, old people that were in 70s , stuck with us since then.

Just to address the issue that Curriculum doesn't matter the thing that matters is Teacher Ability to deliver the lecture Things needed to be in mind Teacher didn't have complete independence what he/she think it's right for their students as they are bound with the curriculum. 2nd thing Teachers that's going to teach the student is definitely going to be from the Pakistan institute so how dare he that he will deliver anything extra if the approach they gain fron their teachers is the same of following the Curriculum.
