Maybe once you assembled it on the roll put it back in the pie iron to toast the roll

I never used a pie iron before, did you use a spray or butter or anything before you put the hamburger meat on the iron? looks like it didn't stick, that food looks yummy.

Man that burger 🍔 looked great. The only suggestion I can think of is make two and invite me. 😂 Sometimes my wife and I just pick up a really small salad and use it 🥬 on burgers or whatever we are having. Ive never used pie irons so about all I can think of might be a breakfast cook. Maybe a bacon and egg English muffin thing.

I like my burgers med well to well and crispy bacon. The burger looked good as is. Here's something that may not be able to cook in a pie iron, eggs?? Thanks for sharing.
@CheezeheadChris4 жыл бұрын
Certainly you can. They are just small cast iron pans. Though my be a tad harder to do in the larger on cuz of the ridges in it.

Hey bro I was thinking of get the bigger set of pie irons or should I get both because I been watching you cook with them I think the bigger set would be better what do you think
@CheezeheadChris4 жыл бұрын
Scott, if you can swing it get both. I have both. And they both do come in handy. Unless you can find a big one that does not have ridges. Ridges can be kind of a pain at times.
@EatCarbs4 жыл бұрын
I'd have to agree with Chris.. I would get one of each. More versatility. Thanks for watching brother.

That looked awesome buddy! But ya need to let bacon breath when it cooks! I think that the bacon was a bit thick but should have still cooked up fine. By closing it up, your steaming the bacon instead. And you might have over filled it a bit too. Ya did right by opening them up and frying it like ya did. After all, they just little cast iron fry pans. There trips and trick to using them and you figure them out Ya go through trial and error. But you are well on your way of becoming a Pie Iron Master!

Chris is right, steaming interferes with the Maillard reaction, so you don’t get the caramelization. That being said there is a burger place that steams their burgers and they are quite good. Reconstitute some dried onions put them on both sides of the Patty and you’ll have white castle style burgers. I enjoyed your video
