Ive got the fusion pump in my cobra I just installed. I picked it up from department of boost along with their wire harness and brackets. Havent fired it up yet as im now wiring up proefi on it. the entire system is 5.5gallon tank, fusion pump, 1 1/8" hose, DOB super single heat exchanger, VMP IC core. I have a flow meter to put in when Im ready to check flow. The one thing ive heard about the fusion pump is a lot of aeration with it. So it is a PWM pump and I am going to wire it to the proefi and will mess with speeds to get good flow but no aeration.

That sounds like a nice setup. Thanks for confirming PWM on the pump, I haven’t had a chance to play with it yet. I’ve seen a lot of people struggle with aeration with the EMP pumps too and slow them down. I’ve found by designing your reservoir to not have aeration like placing the return line down low in the tank etc. it gets rid of it all and you can run the pump full speed with no issues. Perhaps the same will be true of the Fusion pump.

How did you orientated the yellow trigger wire? Can you connect it to the factory trigger wire???
@screamineaton Жыл бұрын
@Shawn Spencer connect it to a 12v trigger. So yes off the factory wire would work. I wired mine directly to my proefi.

You wouldn't happen to have a part number for the connector on the fusion pump would you?

Does DoB still sell that kit?

Could you provide the wiring designations for the fusion pump? I am in the process of installing and the ford connector is not marked for power, ground, trigger,,, etc… would be most appreciated!!

Could that pump fit on your trackhawk
@MalcolmV8 Жыл бұрын
I'm sure with enough time and effort just about any pump could be made to fit.

I’ve read about people using an in tank pump along with an EMP, have you ever tried or seen the need for this??
@MalcolmV82 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard of that and seen it but personally never found a need or reason to do that. Just extra complexity, cost and power requirement on your alternator.

What are your thoughts on the dc150?
@MalcolmV82 жыл бұрын
They don’t flow enough for me but they are a great bang for the buck option. I should think about including in upcoming testing.

@@MalcolmV8 I think ima just purchase the emp pump “pay once cry once” 😅 Only thing that worries me is that some people have cavitation issues with them I’m guessing that’s probably because how people mount them?
@MalcolmV82 жыл бұрын
@@modlist6129 yes how they're mounted and also how their reservoir tank is setup. Don't have the return line coming in up top creating a massive splash fest and aerating the water. Return line down low well below the fluid level.
@modlist61292 жыл бұрын
@@MalcolmV8 I have a pnr tank I’ll most likely end up getting rid of the drain valve that is has and use that port for the return line.
@MalcolmV82 жыл бұрын
@@modlist6129 is that big enough? most drains I've seen are pretty small. You can either weld a new return lower down and plug the old one or I've seen some people add an extension inside the tank from the higher return and direct the fluid down low to avoid the crazy aeration.

Dang it, the Ford Fusion PW611 pumps have jumped up a lot on price! You wouldn't happen to be selling yours Mr. Malcolm? lol
@MalcolmV87 ай бұрын
Everything seems to be getting so expensive! I am not selling any pumps right now.
@racequad97 ай бұрын
@@MalcolmV8 No worries. Seems like the cheapest way to get one of these pumps is to find a low mile Ford Fusion and pull the pump. Are these pumps pretty reliable? Also, how hard is it to wire up to the 03/04 cobras?
