I don’t see a point in ever doing neither one of those maneuvers...I would want to keep the frame of the truck straight and not twist it at all

Of course YOU don't see the point, but experienced firemen get it. Junior volunteers and ladies auxiliary are not allowed to operate the truck, so you have never had this problem. Experienced operators have to do it. The frame is not being "twisted." Do you know what a torque box is, or what it does?!? You really think the frame is supporting the truck once outriggers are down? You are either a wannabe buff, or you come from a tiny/volunteer department. You're saying you know more than the factory engineers and designers. "Ever doing neither" ?!? What language is that? Are you from West Virginia, public school, or just a ghetto? Worry about learning English before you worry about criticizing someone else's physics and geometry.
