I just woke up and did not expect for this video to get the amount of attention it did... Thank you for watching everyone. I enjoyed Yunchan's performance a lot as you can tell. And I truly do believe that he will win the competition after last night's performance. Hence, the title of the video is my prediction hahaha. It's only a matter of hours before we find out! He's only 18 years old and capable of producing such breathtaking tonal qualities. This competition brings in pianists with incredible abilities. However, not many have given me the impression to watch them perform in person. Yunchan did just that for me with his performance of my favorite piano concerto. I could go on for days about how much I enjoyed his playing. And I'm glad to see so many of you all agreeing in the comments hahaha! :D

I had the great good fortune to see him perform Rach 3 for his NY Philharmonic debut with James Gaffigan last week. Extraordinary! And he took the 3rd movement EVEN FASTER!!! NYC audiences rock and are loud, enthusiastic, and appreciative. After two encores and about five long bows he came out from backstage and was crying. After a quick bow, he went over to the concertmaster and asked her to walk off stage with him, effectively ending the concert. Very touching end to an historical moment in classical music.

Here I am again, listening and weeping and getting those 'chills' again. Anciently, those electrical chills/goose bumps were called "horripilations." These horripilations were thought of as the soul's way of recognizing (confirming) the fact that one is in the presence of something extraordinary that was happening. In Indian these chills were called having a "samadhi" or experience of ecstasy. Being a direct experience of the Truth its self (above names or forms). Blessings on all you love. moi

I had goosebumps from the first movement through the vibrant finale. Such nuance! Such power! Such an emotional range! And when he finished, I actually cheered and had tears in my eyes. That has never happened to me in my long life. It was a sensational performance by a very young man with a remarkable career ahead of him.

I particularly liked how Yunchan paid attention to the conductor and the orchestra rather than performing on his own, which led to a wholesome performance. He is not only talented but also very humble. He wasn't trying to show off to win the competition. Rather, he wanted to deliver the soul and inspiration of the composers centruries apart as best as he could, to the audience.

Simply incredible performance. Thanks for sharing this. He is only 18 years old? Unbelievable. Chills, goose bumps, ... that said it all. Standing ovation to this 18-year old South Korean pianist!

Thank you for showcasing this one in 100 Million Musical Talent!! I'm as astounded as everyone else!! I've Never heard anyone play this piece with the Poetry, Power, Depth, Nuance, Brilliance, Speed, Accuracy, Articulation, Introspection and Explosive Delivery as this Iconic Performance!!! There is also a vid on You Tube with him playing it when he was 15. Oh my I have to wonder when he learned it??? Yunchan Lim was also my choice for Gold early on. He had something none of the others even came close to. His Beethoven 3rd also is so precise, pure, clean, I'm amazed!!!

정말 뛰어난 집중력과 곡에대한 완벽한 이해력, 작곡가보다 더 능동적인 해석, 유연한 자유로움. 뭐하나 빠질게 없는 천재네요 ^^ 자랑스럽습니다.
