What I always observe that's missing in these conversations is the "Daddy Issues" point. Most of us have missing daddies in the dynamic. But instead of slinging accusations at each other, brothas & sistas need to remember that when daddy was walking out the door, both of yall were standing their being abandoned TOGETHER. BOTH of you were being raised by a single mother. And mama & daddy came from that same type of home they raised you in, and could only give out of the deficit that they were left with by our grandparents. It's time to put away the childish baggage and make mature, adult decisions in the present instead of blaming the past, thinking that's your excuse from doing the hard work. We can build our own destinies by our choices from this moment going forward.

@TelishaYah9 ай бұрын
@@davidpeaston8443 I'm only speaking for who it applies to & who can be helped by it. I never said everybody grew up with daddy issues or were raised by single mothers. I was conveying that blaming each other is pointless since we have the power to change our outcomes, for us & our future generations. And why did you automatically assume that missing daddies & single moms is a worst case scenario as if such families didn't experience happiness in other ways as well? And to top it off, you just discarded the part where I said we can't use our past as excuses not to make good choices to affect a better future for ourselves. You should practice better reading comprehension instead of just skimming people's comments in order to give a self-righteous retort. I mean, dang...for something that didn't apply to you, you sure did holler.

It's hard to take Yamaneika and her well worn rhetoric seriously when she's wearing a wig that looks like one of those rainbow icies you get in Spanish Harlem in the summertime. Maybe Yamaneika is an absolute cupcake sweetheart but she ALWAYS comes off as so battle hardened and front loaded with past relationship baggage. And everything is always "...ni**er this..." and "...ni**er that..". It becomes wearisome after awhile. Patrice O'Neal used to handle her with ease and I think he may have led to some of her disgust with men. This is strictly my opinion based on what I've watched and what I'm watching now. What people leave out is the affects of the Vietnam War at the time. Notice that act you speak of came right about the time or just before the Vietnam War where black men were drafted and purposely put on the front lines. Then upon return were denied benefits, denied their G.I bills. And then shortly after Reagan flooded the ghetto with drugs and took a step toward mass incarceration. Black men didn't just leave they were taken and black women didn't just choose welfare after thier husband's died on the Frontline or came back disabled or drug addicted they had no choice. Yes men should step up to help better their communities, but it sounds crazy to ask a man to take time from his kids to raise someone else’s. That’s worse than expecting a man who doesn’t have kids to not pursue making his own in order to raise someone else’s. Did they get rid of big brother programs or churches.

It’s not crazy to gather neighborhood kids along with yours, you must have come from a dysfunctional community

The good Dr. makes many good points...but him advocating for black men to save others from their own poor decisions is ridiculous....
@ljackson249 ай бұрын
He’s not suggesting to save the parent, he’s creating a scenario where men can save the children. Which, as corny as it sounds, ARE the future. But honestly, that’s not even truly feasible bc BM still haven’t figured out how’s to save themselves. That’s why they always come up with those scenarios about the plan set up for them. Sooooo, y’all know it’s a plan, have known it, have seen it play out & STILL go along with it?!? How does that even make sense?

My brothers and l grew up in a home with a mother and father but still didn't get what we needed because our parents came from trauma themselves. You can be the most feminine woman and the most masculine man but still be emotionally disconnected. Why don't we just encourage men and women to heal and become their best selves instead of dehumanizing one another by accusing the each other of not being feminine or masculine which by the way doesn't work in changing any man or woman.

I LOVE Yammaneika, I do. But how is it reduction to want to see BW as feminine, but it's NOT reductionist when you say, "My titties are out. What else do I do to show that I'm a woman?" It's pretty ridiculous this mentality, and we know other women may think like this. Putting out the goods is the only thing you think you'd need to get the man you want. It's a consensus that BW GENERALLY are regarded as more masculine, yet, INSTEAD of addressing this CLEAR issue raised by their own BM, instead we're met with S.I.G.N language, deflection and hostility. We never hear solutions from BW to BW, about BW and what THEY should do about THEIR issue. Because its only getting worse, and as men GTOW, SYSBM, or grab their passports, pretty soon we'll be on a vastly sinking ship. The BW HAS hundreds of socio-economic resources today that BM never got and is still masculine & unhappy. That HAS to be addressed. Investors are giving BW BILLIONS out here to be economically viable and empowered while the majority of homelessness and imprisonment are filled with BM. The real crisis is how everyone is LEAVING BM to die, BW included.

Umars logic makes no sense on this 1. So let me get this straight a women's reason for being masculine is because their isn't a father in the house to raise the kids? So does a single father raising the kid's by himself make him feminine?
@ashasun66209 ай бұрын
If they’re a single father raising girls they’re typically not as hard and mean.
@AB-rt8xm9 ай бұрын
@@ashasun6620 But you didn't answer the question. Not being hard and mean is not the same as feminine.
@ashasun66209 ай бұрын
@@AB-rt8xm you would have to ask Umar what he meant but I would think he was saying she would take on a a masculine role. The men would take on a feminine roll if they’re doing feminine things like playing dress up with makeup and all.

6:20 One thing I would like to ask woman is just don’t outright ignore someone, nothing is more humiliating then saying a simple hello or complimenting them and they just outright blank you. That genuinely can piss ANY man off and it makes him feel unseen even when they were trying to be respectful. I’m 30 a clean record and have been told I was handsome but when you get ignored by someone you were trying to be respectful to I makes you want to slap her strictly off the fact she didn’t even treat you like a human
@miram20536 ай бұрын
Its one thing if its courtesy just because your sharing space in the moment (holding the door, saying excuse me or thank you) and a person ignores you. But no one has to respond to a man trying to shoot his shot. You dont know the persons state of mind. So wanting to slap a woman for not responding how you wanted her to is a definite red flag.
